In June, Ag Assist partnered with Hokonui Radio in Southland to offer a special giveaway
designed to strengthen our connections within the local farming community. Understanding
the challenges that farmers face, we wanted to make a difference by offering 12 hours of
free Ag Assist labour to one lucky winner.

The response was enthusiastic, and among the many entries, Kjersti Walker emerged as the
winner. Kjersti and her husband, Scott, are dedicated sheep & beef farmers located near
Heriot, Southland.

To lend a helping hand, we sent two of our hardworking Ag Assisters, Hayley and Dylan, out
to the Walker farm for a day of labor. From spreading bark in the garden to releasing and
planting trees and taking on a variety of other sweaty jobs, Hayley and Dylan worked side by
side.

“It was a great day out helping Kjersti and Scott on their home farm. We did a range of
jobs and having two Ag Assist workers out on the same day made it efficient and super
enjoyable”, mentioned Hayley. Having a day of Ag Assist work that fitted in with their full-
time job gives Hayley and Dylan a leg up towards their goal of getting on the property
market.

At Ag Assist, we’re committed to supporting our local communities, and this giveaway was
just one of the ways we’re helping to lighten the load for Southland farmers.
Congratulations to Kjersti and Scott, and a big thank you to everyone who participated!
